Mikey Bustos
Mikey Bustos is a Filipino Canadian vocalist whose talent and music has continued to grow since becoming a finalist on the first season of the television show, "Canadian Idol." With strong vocals, he is gaining recognition in Canada, the United States, and in Asia. I've had the opportunity to work with the humble entertainer at one of his first performancesin the United States which was at the Asia Pacific Islander stage at the SF Pride Celebration. He headlined the program along with Filipino American singer, Jasmine Trias. You know what I love about working in the industry? I love being able to meet some of the most talented and sweetest people in the world. Mikey is one of them and is definitely the type of artist every stage manager loves working with. So as I watch from afar, watching Mikey's career continues to make me smile. =)Check out Mikey Bustos' album "Memories of a Superhero" released under BMG Canada, now available on the exclusive on-line Fil-Am music store http://www.ubetunes.com/.

Stkee: Hip Hop Artist
Dean Ramos, also known as "Stkee", is a hip hop artist based out of San Jose, California. His track "Pacquiao Couch" is creating a buzz, as Stkee writes of struggle and Manny Pacquiao's journey as a boxer. "Pacquiao Couch" was just released on the exclusive Fil-Am online music store, UbeTunes.com .Dean contacted me in his early days as a music producer and performer. Since then we've had many conversations about the industry and his goals. I've seen him grow from a budding producer to today a certified Pro Tools engineer. He continues to grow as a producer, as well as a music business professional. And every project he partakes in, brings him to another level.

Summer Breeze
Amiel Maquilan, also known as "Summer Breeze" is an acoustic artist from the San Francisco Bay Area. He's a young artist that I met about one year ago while booking for talent for Fiesta Filipina. Amiel is an easy going musician who has clear music and personal goals. He's accomplished quite a lot in the little time that I've known him. One of his recent successes is putting together a concert called For Your Soul, benefiting the Veterans Equity Center of San Francisco and the Filipino WWII Veteranos. The sold out event featuring Summer Breeze, along with several talented musicians brought in audiences from all throughout California and other locations nationwide. Today Summer Breeze releases his album entitled "Seasons", with music now available on the exclusive on-line music store UbeTunes.com. Elements of the Outer Realm
Out of Long Beach, California making noise through their distinct music is a hip hop band called Elements of the Outer Realm. I first encountered Elements of the Outer Realm while doing an event at the Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas, Nevada. I received a press kit with great music, but when they started performing on stage the crew and I were impressively blown away. The band has a wide range of influences which they have been able to incorporate in a unique way that separates them from many bands. Bring out the congas, the timbales, clarinet, saxophone, drums, turntables... and add on powerful emcees. This is the kind of band that will throw out all of the usual expectations you have right before watching a new band. You have to see a live performance to experience what I'm talking about. Elements of the Outer Realm was the perfect closing band right before the midnight light show above us at the Fremont Street Experience.

Joel Del Rosario: Filipino American Jazz Artist
Jazz music has a way of lifting the soul and making you move -- it moves you to get up in rhythm or moves you to feel emotions you thought you never could feel. Without a doubt, those are the reasons why I enjoy listening to jazz music and definitely why I enjoy listening to Joel Del Rosario's "Calm In The Storm".
Joel Del Rosario is a jazz artist and musician based out of San Francisco, California. He has the ability to play the guitar as well as the viola. Along with his skills, Joel's songwriting ability that has really brought him positive reviews and raves. His music is smooth to the soul, but also inspiring to a range of listeners. I've gotten the chance to meet Joel Del Rosario over a cup of coffee and have found him to be quite sincere and very rooted in his music. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing a live performance soon.
My personal favorites from the album are "One Way Street", "Back In The Day" and "Her Favorite". These songs and the full length album is now available on the exclusive Filipino American music store, UbeTunes.com . For more information on Joel Del Rosario you can log on to: www.joeldelrosario.com .

Thuglish Entertainment
There's a new hip hop crew called Thuglish Entertainment based out of New Jersey with a growing popularity and a growing name. The group consists of Sherwin Morales (aka Hustyle); Dale Libores (aka Delema); Chris Sison (aka Dxrhymes); and their Producer Edmar Morales (aka Doctah Ed).
I was first contacted by Doctah Ed a few months back and was intrigued, not only by music, talent and know-how -- but by a movement Thuglish Entertainment has started called Phlip Hop Music which is Filipino Hip Hop Music. Just like the movement occuring in Manila right now, Thuglish Entertainment hopes to create such a movement right here in the United States. Their music and performance showcases both English and Tagalog tracks.
